History of Twenty Pearls Incorporated

Twenty Pearls Incorporated (TPI) non-profit, 501(c)(3) foundation, located in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia. Recognizing the growing need for a structured vehicle to expand its community impact, the organization was officially incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on October 4, 2006, and was subsequently granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt status in June 2007.

Twenty Pearls Incorporated was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Its mission is to sponsor and promote programs and initiatives that serve residents of Portsmouth, Virginia, and the surrounding communities, with a focused commitment to advancing education, health, economic stability, and cultural and civic engagement.

Since its inception, Twenty Pearls Incorporated has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to service and community investment. To date, the organization has awarded more than $120,000 in scholarships to deserving students pursuing higher education. In addition, TPI has supported the City of Portsmouth’s foster care program, provided meals and supportive services to senior citizens, and delivered essential food and resources to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, developed and underwritten leadership trainings, and promoted health initiatives to citizens living within and around the City of Portsmouth.

Through strategic partnerships, volunteer engagement, and sustained community outreach, Twenty Pearls Incorporated continues to serve as a trusted community resource and advocate for equity, empowerment, and opportunity. Its legacy reflects a deep commitment to improving quality of life and creating lasting, positive change for the residents of Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
